Specialty DNA work depends on the sample type, condition, number of reference comparisons, and laboratory methods required. There is no fixed online checkout for this category. A coordinator will contact you within 24–48 hours to confirm what is possible and provide pricing before you commit.
Infidelity DNA Testing
We test personal items — clothing, bedding, or other objects — for the presence of DNA that doesn’t belong to a known person. If you provide a reference sample (for example, a cheek swab from a known individual), we can also compare recovered DNA against that person to confirm or rule out a match.
Every case is handled with complete confidentiality and no judgment. You describe what you have and what you need to know; we explain what the laboratory can realistically attempt before you move forward.
Semen Detection & Identification
We can test for the presence of semen on clothing, bedding, or other surfaces, with DNA identification available if a comparison sample is provided. Screening and DNA work are coordinated with our laboratory partner based on the item and the questions you need answered.
Unknown Sample Analysis
If you have an unidentified biological sample — blood, hair, tissue, or another material — we can attempt DNA extraction and, if you provide a reference sample, compare it against a known person.
Success depends on sample type, age, storage, and how the material was handled. We’ll be honest about the odds before you pay for laboratory work.
Touch DNA Testing
DNA can sometimes be recovered from cells left behind through simple contact with an object — a doorknob, phone, or personal item. Touch DNA samples are lower in quantity and more technically demanding to recover; results and success depend on the condition and handling of the sample.
If touch DNA is your goal, tell us what the item is, how it was stored, and whether you have a reference sample for comparison so we can advise on feasibility.

Common questions about specialty DNA testing
Is infidelity testing confidential?
Yes. Specialty and infidelity-related cases are handled with complete confidentiality. Results are shared with you only unless you authorize otherwise. We do not contact third parties, employers, or anyone else about your inquiry.
Can you test an item that’s been washed?
Sometimes — but washing, bleach, heat, and time can degrade or remove biological material. Semen screening and DNA recovery are less likely to succeed on heavily laundered items. Tell us how the item was cleaned and stored; we’ll give an honest assessment before you commit.
How is semen detection performed, and what can it tell me?
Laboratory methods can screen for the presence of semen on an item or surface. If semen is detected and a comparison (reference) sample is available, DNA analysis may identify whether that DNA matches a known person. Screening alone does not always yield a full DNA profile — we explain which step applies to your case during the feasibility review.
What happens if the sample doesn’t yield usable DNA?
Not every sample produces a usable profile — especially touch DNA, aged material, or items that were washed or poorly stored. We discuss that risk up front. If the laboratory cannot obtain usable DNA, your coordinator will explain what that means for your case and what options remain, if any.
Can these results be used in court?
Most specialty inquiries are for personal knowledge and are not set up as court-admissible evidence. Court use typically requires documented chain-of-custody collection and specific legal protocols. If you need results for a legal matter, tell us before testing so we can advise whether a legal/chain-of-custody pathway is appropriate — or whether you need law enforcement or a forensic exam instead.
What if I’m not sure what type of test I need?
That’s common. Describe the sample and the question you’re trying to answer — for example, “Is there DNA on this item that isn’t mine?” or “Does this match person X?” — and we’ll recommend the right approach, or tell you if testing isn’t realistic.
