Drug Testing for Warehouses & Distribution Centers

The Challenge of Drug Testing in High-Volume Warehouses

Large distribution centers — especially during peak season — can have hundreds of employees across multiple shifts. Sending selected employees to a clinic creates a cascade of problems: shift gaps, missed no-shows, inconsistent timing, and hours of lost productivity.

We come to your DC. We schedule around your shift windows, work through selections efficiently, and get your people back on the floor faster.

Common Drug Testing Needs in Warehousing

  • Pre-employment testing — For high-volume new hires, including temp-to-perm conversions
  • Random drug testing — For both DOT-covered drivers and non-DOT warehouse associates
  • Post-accident testing — After forklift accidents, MHE incidents, loading dock collisions, or slip/fall injuries
  • Reasonable suspicion testing — When a floor supervisor documents observed impairment
  • Seasonal surge testing — Rapid pre-employment screening for peak season ramp-ups

DOT + Non-DOT in the Same Facility

Most distribution centers have a mix:

  • DOT-covered employees — Drivers with CDLs operating commercial vehicles off-site
  • Non-DOT associates — Pickers, packers, receiving staff, supervisors, and yard spotters

We handle both programs in the same visit — correct forms and chain of custody for each group. Your DER just needs to tell us who's in which program before we arrive.

Forklift & MHE Accident Drug Testing

Material handling equipment accidents are one of the most common triggers for post-accident drug testing in warehousing. If your policy requires testing after any MHE incident involving injury or property damage, we can respond quickly with a mobile collector.

⚠️ Know your alcohol testing window before an incident happens — DOT alcohol tests have a 2-hour window; your non-DOT policy may have its own requirements.

Staffing Agency Partnerships

If you use a staffing agency to fill warehouse positions, make sure your drug testing requirements are clearly written into the staffing agreement. We work with both the host employer and staffing agencies — but each party's legal obligations must be defined in advance.

Seasonal Hiring Surges

Need to test 200 pre-employment applicants in two weeks? We can coordinate high-volume on-site collection events with multiple collectors — scheduled around your hiring event calendar.
